OUR CLIENT

Dyne Bio Inc. is a leading bio-healthcare source material company based in Korea that has been working to expand their red algae business and export to the U.S.

CHALLENGE

No local, qualified PCQI training to help them create a food safety plan and import product to the U.S.

Seyoon Jung, a Global Business Development Associate at Dyne Bio, was tasked with bringing agar, a red algae product, to the U.S. market.

To successfully import this new ingredient, Jung learned he needed to become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI). This would allow Dyne Bio to write and submit a food safety plan.

Without PCQI training and a food safety plan, the company would not be able to export its product or become a supplier for U.S. importers.

Jung researched PCQI training programs but could not find any in-person or hybrid courses in Korea. He then searched for an online course and found Registrar Corp’s PCQI Online Training through the Food Safety Preventative Controls Alliance (FSPCA) website.

SOLUTION

Registrar Corp’s Online Training enabled Dyne Bio to expand their business in the U.S.

PCQI Online Training is designed for individuals who will be assuming the role of a PCQI. It is the only 100% online, self-paced course that allows professionals to earn the official FSPCA PCQI certificate.

Registrar Corp’s Online Training helped Dyne Bio and Jung to:

  • Find approved PCQI training. Due to the differences in Korean and U.S. food safety requirements, Jung needed to find a certification course approved by the FSPCA. Thanks to Registrar Corp’s partnership with FSPCA, he was able to begin his training quickly.
  • Complete PCQI coursework on his own time. The self-paced training worked well for Jung, as live or in-person options would have been difficult and costly to travel to.
  • Help his company qualify as a U.S. supplier. Without a PCQI-trained team member, Dyne Bio would not be eligible to work with U.S. importers. Registrar Corp ultimately made it possible for Dyne Bio to legally export their agar product to the U.S. and expand internationally.
